Chi siamo? Come siamo fatti? Cosa c’è dentro e fuori di noi?
Il piccolo protagonista del libro osserva, assaggia, annusa, tocca tutto quello che lo circonda, e così facendo cresce e si evolve esplorando la natura. Allo stesso tempo, però, impara a conoscere meglio anche sé stesso, quello che gli piace, quello che lo fa sentire bene e a prendersi cura tanto della realtà fuori quanto di quella dentro di lui.
Un albo illustrato per conoscere la meraviglia della natura e quella del nostro io, perché prendersi cura del mondo attorno vuol dire viverlo da vicino e rispettarlo proprio come se fosse il nostro stesso corpo.
Il testo, misurato e suggestivo, attraversa le pagine come una poesia, intersecandosi con le illustrazioni. La delicata trasparenza di alcune pagine interne, che giocano con sovrapposizioni e opacità, stimola i sensi e stuzzica la curiosità del lettore coinvolgendolo attivamente nel piacere della scoperta del nostro stesso corpo.
Il legame tra il dentro e il fuori accompagna il protagonista prima intento a osservare dal vetro della finestra, poi a guardarsi allo specchio, e infine a prendere un binocolo e a scavalcare il confine tra realtà e immaginazione.
La struttura narrativa dell’esplorazione nella natura si ripete nella sezione che racconta la scoperta dell’universo interiore: dapprima il bambino incontra piante, rami, cortecce e paesaggi; poi comincia a considerare il proprio corpo, quello che c’è dentro, il cuore e i vasi sanguigni, fino ad arrivare alla parte più nascosta di lui, rigogliosa proprio come gli alberi, forte come il fuoco e immensa come il cielo.
La distanza tra “dentro” e “fuori” si assottiglia sempre di più e porta a una profonda riflessione sull’importanza di prestare attenzione e di comportarsi con rispetto verso il pianeta in cui viviamo così come verso il nostro corpo e la nostra interiorità: dobbiamo sempre prendercene cura.
Un libro studiato in ogni minimo dettaglio, realizzato con illustrazioni a matita, poi colorate digitalmente, con l’aggiunta di texture fatte di carta e inchiostri. Le pagine trasparenti da sovrapporre e sfogliare arricchiscono l’esperienza e favoriscono una vera e propria immersione nella storia.
