Il passero bianco è una fiaba iniziatica in versi, della morte che nasconde la vita quando la vita nasconde la morte, del loro congiungersi in un territorio limite, tra il giardino e il bosco, tra l’infanzia e la sua perdita desiderante e definitiva.
Un grande gioco di trasformazione include la morte apparente e il rischio dell’inganno sotto mentite spoglie, ma tutto in questa fiaba è onirico e reale, gli animali messaggeri che prendono sarcastici la parola, le creature di mezzo che cacciano per altra fame, il corpo segreto di sangue e ossa da nascondere.
Qualcosa di crudele, incantato e tagliente lampeggia rapido, con sotterranea ironia: nessuno è davvero innocente; i dialoghi oracolari e improvvisi celano sempre una sorpresa.
Sofia Fiorini ha intrapreso una direzione originale e complessa, quella della narrazione lirica affidata alla struttura, alla tenuta, a un lungo respiro che di pagina in pagina resta in equilibrio sulla storia. «Hai il dono del passo» dice il gatto alla protagonista, lo stesso si potrebbe dire dell’autrice, che ha un passo lieve, acuminato, precisissimo; la poesia di Sofia Fiorini riesce sulla distanza del sentiero in salita, sulla pazienza della trama.
Il passero bianco è il totem infero che sceglie la fanciulla, nel suo apprendistato ci saranno la caccia, l’innamoramento, il rito, tre segreti e un diverso finale.
