Apparso per la prima volta a puntate sul periodico “Film” tra il maggio e il luglio 1943 e pubblicato in volume solo nel 1979, Vita di Enrico Ibsen di Alberto Savinio non è, a dispetto del titolo, una biografia del drammaturgo e poeta norvegese, ma una brillante e lucida sequenza di divagazioni imprevedibili sulla donna e il femminismo.
Il volume, con sei tavole disegnate dall’autore, ha l’introduzione di Gioconda Carrabs.
L’azione viene paragonata al traforo del Sempione: da un versante le femministe e dall’altro i femministi, alla testa dei quali è giusto porre Ibsen, si incontreranno non nel cuore e nella profondità della montagna, ma nei centri nevralgici della società.
