Ad Alzalebraccia sono sempre e solo i Supereroi a occuparsi di tutto, dalla lotta contro il crimine e i cattivi di turno, alla cura del verde, alla manutenzione delle strade e persino alla raccolta dei rifiuti.
Un giorno, all’ennesima chiamata delle autorità, per riparare il tetto della scuola che cade a pezzi, i Supereroi decidono di mettersi in sciopero; a tentare una soluzione temporanea ci pensa Titti Spellati, una ragazzina battagliera, intorno a cui prende forma la storia.
Con un vissuto familiare particolare, Titti è cresciuta con l’attitudine all’indipendenza e alla cura nei confronti della natura, degli animali e anche delle “cose” di uso quotidiano. Condivide la stessa sensibilità con la sua maestra, Sonia Fioccochiaro, arrivata ad Alzalebraccia da poco tempo.
Lo sguardo divertito con il quale inizialmente osserva l’atteggiamento passivo dei suoi concittadini e colleghi durante l’attesa dei Supereroi, si trasforma ben presto in sbigottimento, indignazione e desiderio di cambiare le cose.
Saranno proprio loro due, in un susseguirsi di rocambolesche disavventure, con la complicità di molti compagni di classe e del giovane maestro Piero Pierino, a innescare una “rivoluzione gentile”, che porterà i bambini e le bambine della città a fare davvero la differenza. Stanchi dei comportamenti immaturi e irresponsabili degli adulti arrivano addirittura a creare la Libera Repubblica di Mitirosulemaniche! Un luogo dove diritti e doveri, responsabilità personale e impegno collettivo convivono in armonia.
Ovviamente non tutto fila liscio, ma il lieto fine è assicurato!
