L’antologia La rosa di Gaza contiene dieci poetesse di Gaza, alcune già note al grande pubblico, altre più giovani, ma già dotate di una voce lucida e forte: Nima Hasan, Ruba al-Sharif, Shuruq Dughmush, Dunya al-Amal Ismail, Samar al-Ghussein, Marah al-Khatib, Du’a Said, Raghad al-Naami, Nahar Hussein, Fedaa Zeyad.
Dalle poesie trascelte emerge uno spaccato di Gaza tra sospensione della vita, manifestazioni quotidiane, vissuti esposti alla cupa rassegnazione; voci dotate di una tessitura poetica densa che coniuga la complessità dei contenuti e dei punti di vista con la ricerca poetica di una scrittura sottoposta ai tempi e alle istanze dell’urgenza. Sono voci di studentesse, professioniste, madri i cui percorsi di vita, già nati sotto l’occupazione, sono stati ex abrupto stravolti negli ultimi due anni.
Nel panorama del primo genocidio trasmesso in streaming mondiale, cosa può la poesia? In un contesto in cui si è stati privati di tutto e ci si sente dei sopravvissuti perché la morte potrebbe fare visita ad ogni angolo, è la parola scritta ciò che di più potente, immediato e al contempo complesso resta per trasmettere una traccia della propria esistenza, della propria storia, per resistere al silenzio e all’oblio.
La morte, la malnutrizione, le mutilazioni, i traumi psicologici incombono su Gaza, eppure assistiamo ad un fiorire di voci poetiche che sono testimonianza di luce, amore e bellezza.
Per l’occidente opulento resta l’obbligo morale ed etico di mettersi in ascolto, raccogliere queste poesie e diffonderle il più possibile.
Il volume è curato da Alessandro Cannavale, Luca Crastolla e Lucia Cupertino e pubblicato dalla Les Flâneurs edizioni (Collana Icone), con illustrazioni di Fabiana Renzo.
La traduzione in italiano è opera di esperti della lingua e letteratura araba: Nabil Bey Salameh, Angelo Cafagno, Sana Darghmouni, Aldo Nicosia, Caterina Pinto, Fatima Sai e Simone Sibilio.
