È più di una raccolta di poesie; è un progetto artistico interdisciplinare. L’autore, che ha realizzato anche le illustrazioni dei versi, costruisce un percorso intimo che decifra le emozioni contemporanee usando la lente del mito. Figure come Dafne , Narciso , Morfeo , Leda , Pasifae e Penelope vengono spogliate della loro aura classica per diventare emblemi di un presente crudo, fatto di desiderio, disforia e ricerca d’identità.
Lo stile di Sanders è tagliente e lirico, capace di condensare immagini potenti (“finestra di latte nell’asfalto”) e riflessioni viscerali sul corpo (“stomaco”, “ragazza magra”, “busto stile libero”). La sua è una lingua che non teme la vulnerabilità, ma la elegge a strumento di conoscenza, rifiutando ogni facile consolazione (“soffrire bene, senza risparmiarsi, non è un piedistallo”).
L’opera si configura come una voce generazionale autentica, capace di parlare ai lettori che cercano nella poesia non solo estetica, ma anche uno specchio per le proprie inquietudini.
