“Quinto quarto” il nuovo album di Carmelo PipitoneRedazione
Il chitarrista e fondatore dei Marta sui tubi torna a due anni di distanza da “Piedi in acqua” con un nuovo lavoro, 11 brani composti in questo ultimo periodo che si muovono agevolmente tra inglese, italiano, siciliano e arabo.
Canzoni ben radicate nell’attualità, con i virtuosismi della chitarra di Pipitone a far da collante, in cui si affrontano i tempi complicati di oggi, dove la tirannia, la mancanza di saggezza, la crudeltà e l’ignoranza la fanno da padrone, e non sempre basta respirare per sopravvivere (OM, Boffe a Manu China, Filo di lana, Scemo shuffle); canzoni in cui si denuncia l’autodistruzione che nasce dall’ossessione per il superfluo e dall’incapacità di liberarsi da schemi, relazioni e logiche corrotte che la socialità impone (Tossica mente). Non mancano canzoni più intime, e così in “Solchi tra le mani” assistiamo ad una dedica ad un amico che viene dal futuro, mentre in “Quasi aprile” ci sorprendiamo per la dolcezza che i nostri genitori ormai anziani hanno ancora nei loro occhi quando si avvicina il momento di ritrovarsi.
Si conclude così un viaggio affascinante, pensato come una sorta di taccuino personale in cui l’artista ha fissato impressioni e stati d’animo improvvisi, e che Carmelo Pipitone ci racconta attraverso un linguaggio musicale che alterna asperità e leggerezza.
Quinto Quarto rappresenta una nuova tappa del cammino di un musicista in costante trasformazione, capace di offrirci un’espressione autentica e rara della propria sensibilità.
