“La Falena” non è solo un night club, è l’epicentro di un’ossessione. Tra le sue pareti vellutate, dove il fumo si mescola a segreti inconfessabili e peccati, si muovono le ombre di una notte infinita. Al bancone, Lucio, un cinico alchimista che non mescola solo cocktail, ma anche i destini di chi varca la soglia. Tra cortigiane dagli sguardi taglienti e figure equivoche, emerge la figura centrale di Nora, una donna tanto misteriosa quanto pericolosa, affilata come una lama di rasoio. In questo inquietante universo di perdizione si aggira persino un professore esperto di occulto, alla ricerca di verità dimenticate. Intanto, lontano dai neon e dal turbine del night, un vecchio ex imbalsamatore consuma le sue giornate. Prigioniero di un corpo stanco, vive tra i ricordi di un lavoro lontano e un amore perduto, con la sola compagnia di una badante devota.
Due mondi apparentemente distanti, due storie che sembrano non avere nulla in comune. Eppure, in un labirinto di segreti, oscure sparizioni e passioni proibite, qualcosa di inatteso li unisce nell’oscurità de La Falena. Quando questo legame emergerà dall’ombra, svelerà un disegno finale più spaventoso di qualsiasi incubo.
Gli occhi di Nora, anche quando Nora non era in veste di cortigiana, avevano qualcosa di speciale. Non si chiudevano come quelli di tutte le altre, ma piuttosto somigliavano agli occhi delle tigri con le palpebre posizionate in modo da donare uno sguardo pigro e lento. Verso il naso sembravano uniti da un punto di sutura che li rendeva piccoli e con un che di lascivo simile a quella particolare espressione che ha una persona quando desidera ardentemente qualcosa. E questo eccitava gli uomini a prescindere che dividessero il letto con lei o che le stessero servendo un caffè al bancone di un bar. Infilò le scarpe di vernice nera dal tacco vertiginoso e uscì di casa. Ad attenderla davanti al portone c’era un taxi. Come tutti i venerdì sera.
