“Alla donna” (『女に』), una delle raccolte più intime e toccanti dell’immenso poeta giapponese Tanikawa Shuntarō (1931-2024). L’opera, originariamente data alle stampe a Tokyo nel 1991, giunge per la prima volta in Italia grazie alla profonda curatela e traduzione di Diego Martina, yamatologo e poeta egli stesso.
“Alla donna” non è una semplice raccolta di poesie, ma un vero e proprio diario sentimentale che mette a nudo la sfera privata di Tanikawa. Le trentasei poesie che la compongono raccontano la relazione del poeta con la sua terza moglie, Sano Yōko, tracciando un arco emotivo che va dall’innamoramento alla vita coniugale. Quest’opera rappresenta un’eccezione nella vasta produzione del maestro, solitamente dominata da un “vissuto immaginario”, per abbracciare invece una realtà quotidiana, domestica e sentimentale priva di filtri.
Il cuore pulsante della raccolta risiede in una struggente tensione tra ideale e reale. Le poesie aspirano al concetto giapponese di “kairōdōketsu” (偕老同穴), l’ideale di invecchiare insieme e condividere la stessa tomba. Tuttavia, il matrimonio tra Tanikawa e Sano Yōko si concluse dopo sei anni, un epilogo che, paradossalmente, amplifica la potenza dei versi. La raccolta si trasforma così da cronaca di un amore vissuto a testimonianza universale di un amore assoluto, quello che sopravvive nei cuori anche quando la realtà prende un’altra strada.
