È in tutte le librerie e negli store online il nuovo libro Un pony molto speciale di Fulvia Degl’Innocenti, con le illustrazioni di Alessia Urso, realizzato in collaborazione con VIDAS – Organizzazione che offre assistenza gratuita ai malati inguaribili, adulti e bambini – e prefato da Ferruccio De Bortoli.
Il volume fa parte della collana Prime Letture ed è rivolto ai piccoli lettori dai 5 anni in su e scritto in stampatello maiuscolo.
Una storia delicata, con un messaggio potente: prendersi cura di chi è più fragile può diventare un superpotere.
Gabriele si chiede come mai sua sorella appena nata, Martina, abbia bisogno di così tante attenzioni: scoprirà che le servono delle cure speciali e che è proprio nei momenti di difficoltà che si possono trovare nuove amicizie inaspettate, come quella di un pony.
La storia è ambientata presso Casa Sollievo Bimbi, il primo hospice pediatrico della Lombardia, aperto nel 2019 e realizzato da VIDAS per accogliere bambini e ragazzi con malattie molto gravi e non guaribili, insieme alle loro famiglie, mamme e papà, fratelli e sorelle e persino zii e nonni.
Negli spazi sereni e pieni di colore – le illustrazioni sono fedeli all’originale! – le cure sono di un’intera équipe di palliativisti, medici, infermieri, fisioterapisti e neuropsicomotricisti, pedagogisti, logopedisti…e anche animali speciali: la preziosa squadra della pet therapy di VIDAS. E, una volta tornati a casa, l’équipe pediatrica è sempre a disposizione!
In prefazione, Ferruccio De Bortoli, presidente VIDAS, scrive: «A voi che avete tra le mani questo libro: grazie! Avete fatto una scelta non banale: il racconto che queste pagine contengono è di quelli che insegnano a guardare oltre se stessi e incrociare lo sguardo di chi vive un’esistenza segnata dalla malattia e dalla sofferenza».
Una piccola grande storia che insegna ai piccoli lettori e alle piccole lettrici il valore inestimabile del prendersi cura degli altri, proprio come si impegna a fare VIDAS dal 1982.
